Self-Study Paper

First, I want to thank everyone for all of their well wishes, support, encouragement and prayers. God has certainly blessed us with amazing friends and families! Currently, Aaron and I each need to write an eight to ten page paper to submit to our agency. The agency has given us questions to follow while writing it such as "How would you describe your personal history, relationship, coping skills, support system etc." Aaron and I have an agreed upon deadline of having the papers written and mailed out by Monday. I've already started mine. I probably spent 2 hours on the first question. Aaron was quite shocked about that and felt that he would probably only need 2 hours for the whole paper. Many people are surprised when they find out that we have to write a 6-10 page paper in order to adopt. We were surprised too! Our agency uses the information in the paper to get some background on us before the homestudy and to help them more accurately write the homestudy report. So I guess that makes sense to me. Even though we aren't looking forward to writing our papers at least this is one part of the process we have control over!
