Somebody Sing Me the Have Patience Song!

I went to a little Lutheran school from kindergarten through 8th grade. In K-2nd grade, we would participate in little Christian musicals. I remember watching my brother, Brad, dressed up as a snail and singing the "have patience song" - "have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry. Remember, remember, that God has patience too..." After meeting Aaron, I found out he also knew the "have patience song" which I found incredibly coincidental since most of you probably don't have a clue about which song I'm talking about. Anyway, the point of this story is I'm trying incredibly hard to be patient right now and I feel like I am fighting a losing battle. We still have not received our home study report. It is either lost and floating around in the mail system right now or it was accidentally put in one of our neighbors mailboxes and they now know every little detail of our lives. To make matters more frustrating, our social worker can't just print off a new copy and send it because she does not use a computer. She wants us to wait another day to see if it shows up in the mail because otherwise she will have to have the typist print her a new copy and she will have to make her corrections to it manually (she did not make a copy of the once she sent us that had her corrections on it.) So we are currently at a stand still until we get the home study paper and can review it for our own corrections. We are nearing the 4 week mark since having our last home study meeting. And that is why I am frustrated. The good news of the week, though, is we heard from USCIS and we have been given a date and time to get our finger prints taken. Once we have our home study paper that will also be sent to USCIS and they will have everything they need to process our request to adopt internationally. As Aaron and I have been reminding ourselves, we know that God has a plan for us and His timing is perfect. He knows who our little one is going to be and, at the end of all of this, we will meet him! (or her :)) Please pray for my patience and please pray for our little one who most likely is born and waiting for us in Russia.

Sorry to hear about this bump in the road! I swear waiting for that homestudy document was almost the end of me. I hope it gets there tomorrow so things can keep going forward! We're looking forward to seeing you all soon! :)

I'll say a prayer for you this morning that the packet will be waiting for you in your mailbox when you get home today! Give me a call if you receive it!

I promise that not all social workers stink! You, Aaron and your son/daughter are always in my thoughts!

"Have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry. When you get impatient you only start to worry-- remember, remember, that God is patient too, and think of all the times when others had to wait on you."
